“The night was cold, chilling the sweat on his face, but the air was as sweet and crisp as the first bite of a fall apple. Above him was a half-moon and what seemed like a trillion stars.
To match the trillion pebbles, just as mysterious, that we walk over everyday, he thought. Mystery above, mystery below. Weight, mass, reality: mystery all around.”
This is one of the shortest stories I’ve read from Stephen King, yet I enjoyed it. Being a 150 page book, it sure had a good amount of plot for two characters.
Main protagonist, Scott, was able to do something good despite having a big problem of his own. I found him very likable. A good person even if he was being made fun of. He really has a good heart. Then here’s Deedee. She is rough and tough and of corse guardes. But I get it. She was hard to like in the beginning but eventually she was someone I liked in the end.
These characters formed like a clique. They’re different from each other but they found something common and made it something that they would always remember.
The ending was sad and I’m a way hopeful. I don’t want to ruin it of course so that’s all I’m going to say about the ending.
I would recommend this of course, no doubt. A very easy, fast paced book. Also easy when your in a reading slump. I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of five stars.
I hope you all like my review and if you read this book please share your thoughts below or on Twitter. Until then…
I had a look at this book last week but I thought it seemed expensive for how much was there. I will definitely take a look at it as I’ve seen good things. Glad you enjoyed the book!

I was shocked by how short this book is when I saw it on the shelf in the grocery store, most of Stephen King’s books are doorstops! Last time I was in a reading slump “All My Friends Are Superheroes” by Andrew Kaufman got me out of it, I’d definitely recommend it if you can get your hands on a copy. It’s cute and a very quick read. 🙂

I really enjoyed Elevation, too. I checked the page count when I pre-ordered, so I wasn’t surprised by the length. King’s short stories and novellas always pack a lot into a smaller page count.
